Stanley Park Eco Stewards Buttons
May 12, 2014
Stanley Park is a world renowned 1,001 -acre public city park that borders Vancouver’s densely populated busy downtown core, and is almost entirely surrounded by waters of the Pacific Ocean. Much of the park remains densely forested with a large variety of plants, animals and over 200 species of birds.
With the stresses of a major city and a rapidly growing population at the parks doorstep you can bet that this sensitive ecosystem needs to be carefully managed. This is where the Stanley Park Ecology Society comes into play – an independent non-profit charity that promotes awareness and takes on the leadership in the stewardship of Stanley Park through collaborative initiatives in education, research and conservation.
