For those of you who don’t remember, before cable TV, this telethon completely took over the airwaves for that 36 hour period, and Jerry was on the broadcast pretty much non-stop.

Yep, we had three networks, and every single one of them ran the telethon. If you were watching TV on Labor Day, you were watching the telethon. It was kinda cool, because in my house, you watched it every year.
