While not nearly as well known as that other British invasion band, Herman’s Hermits rivalled their Beatle countrymen on the U.S. charts in 1965 and 1966 and were the top selling pop act in the U.S. in 1965. This was the result of a string of hits they recorded that were aimed squarely at the U.S. market, playing on their clean-cut British image.
