Bombs Away! is a graffiti show curated by Yasha Young and American graffiti artist CON at Berlin’s Strychnin Gallery, featuring some of the most prominent US graffiti writers today, including “The Godfather of Graffiti” himself, Richard Mirando – better known as SEEN. Having started his career in New York City in 1973, SEEN is considered one of the most famous old school NYC “graf” writers. His work has been shown alongside such artists as Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, or Jean-Michael Basquiat. SEEN continues working today and has, among other things, recently produced work with and alongside famous British street artist Banksy. CAN2, member of the famous UA crew, is bringing his distinctive style of shading and characters into the mix.
True to the Strychnin concept, Yasha Young is hoping to bridge the gap between the underground and the traditional art world with this exhibition. Featuring works on canvas as well as spray-painted model trains of various sizes, Bombs Away! brings works by over 20 internationally acclaimed graffiti writers to Strychnin Gallery Berlin.
